The Commercial & Merchant customer base is a key driver of American Express's growth and revenue. Ensuring excellent customer experiences is vital to supporting our diverse customer segments, from Small Business Card Members & Global Corporate partners to Merchant customers.

How will you make an impact in this role?

  1. Deliver exceptional service to Commercial and Small Business Clients through inbound calls in a fast-paced environment, focusing on a Customer First mentality.
  2. Consult with Card Members to understand their needs and offer tailored solutions, while reinforcing the benefits of card membership and acknowledging their loyalty.
  3. Add value by understanding customer needs and recommending relevant products and benefits to deepen engagement and loyalty.
  4. Handle general and account-specific inquiries, such as statement questions, card replacements, payments, and rewards redemption, aiming for first call resolution.
  5. Utilize tools and resources to identify solutions and anticipate customer needs, maintaining a first point of contact resolution.
  6. Meet and exceed performance goals related to efficiency, quality, compliance, and customer satisfaction metrics.

Minimum Qualifications

  • Proven customer service experience in a service industry.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Strong interpersonal skills to build relationships with customers and colleagues.
  • Ability to de-escalate difficult conversations and resolve problems.
  • Analytical skills with attention to detail.
  • Strong organizational skills.
