Job summary

Arnold Clark is seeking an enthusiastic Driver/Valeter to join the Rental department at the Armadale branch. You will ensure vehicles are presented in top condition and work in a active, hands-on role as part of a supportive team.

The role suits someone who values attention to detail, can multitask and follow health and safety procedures. Valet experience is preferred, with training available through Arnold Clark’s Valet Academy.

Qualifications

• Full UK driving licence.
• High level of attention to detail.
• Self-motivation with the ability to work as part of a team.
• The ability to multi-task.
• Willingness to participate in training programmes.
• Valet experience is preferred, but training can be provided for a candidate who demonstrates enthusiasm and the other required criteria.

Responsibilities

• Cleaning sold and stock vehicles to a high standard.
• Cleaning vehicles with a high-powered pressure washer and vacuum.
• Working with a polishing/buffing machine to enhance bodywork.
• Driving to collect and deliver vehicles to customers and branches.
• Complying with health and safety procedures while working with chemicals.
• Maintaining and securing equipment; reporting defects and following PPE guidance.
• Working to set timeframes and targets.
• Completing a daily record of work.

We are looking for an enthusiastic and motivated Driver/Valeter to join the Rental department in our Armadale Car and Van Rental branch.

Hours

Full time: Monday - Friday 8am - 5.30pm rotational Saturdays 7.30am - 5pm.

About The Role

As an Arnold Clark Driver/Valeter, you’ll be responsible for ensuring all our vehicles are presented in the best possible condition.

This position will be a perfect fit for someone who enjoys working in an active, physical role, has excellent attention to detail and is a fantastic team player.

Day-to-day duties

• Cleaning sold and stock vehicles to a high standard.
• Cleaning vehicles with a high-powered pressure washer and vacuum.
• Working with a polishing/buffing machine to enhance bodywork.
• Driving to collect and deliver vehicles to customers and branches.
• Complying with health and safety procedures while working with chemicals.
• Making sure that all equipment and machinery is properly maintained and secure,, reporting any defects and complying with manufacturers’ instructions and PPE recommendations.
• Working to set timeframes and targets.
• Completing a daily record of work.

Essential Requirements

Valet experience is preferred, but training can be provided for a candidate who demonstrates a high level of enthusiasm and the other required criteria. Arnold Clark also operates a Valet Academy which all new valet staff will attend.
