Job summary

Arnold Clark Group in Edinburgh Seafield is seeking a proactive Driver/Valeter to keep our rental fleet in pristine condition. You will be responsible for vehicle cleaning, detailing and presentation to the highest standard, with a focus on speed and accuracy.

This full‑time role suits someone who enjoys physical work, works well in a team, and takes pride in delivering great customer service. Training is provided, and a valid UK driving licence is essential.

Qualifications

• Must hold a full UK driving licence.
• Excellent attention to detail.

• Willingness to participate in training programmes.
• Valet experience is a plus; training provided.

Responsibilities

• Clean sold and stock vehicles to a high standard.
• Clean vehicles with high-powered equipment and vacuum.
• Polish/buff bodywork to enhance appearance.
• Drive to collect and deliver vehicles to customers/branches.
• Follow health and safety procedures when handling chemicals.
• Maintain and secure equipment, report defects, follow PPE rules.
• Meet set timeframes and targets.
• Complete a daily record of work.

We are looking for an enthusiastic and motivated Driver/Valeter to join the Rental department in our Edinbirgh Seafield Car and Van Rental branch.

Hours

Full time: 45 hours per week, 5 days out of 7and alternativeweekends.

About the role

As an Arnold Clark Driver/Valeter, you’ll be responsible for ensuring all our vehicles are presented in the best possible condition.

This position will be a perfect fit for someone who enjoys working in an active, physical role, has excellent attention to detail and is a fantastic team player.

Day-to-day duties

• Cleaning sold and stock vehicles to a high standard.
• Cleaning vehicles with a high-powered pressure washer and vacuum.
• Working with a polishing/buffing machine to enhance bodywork.
• Driving to collect and deliver vehicles to customers and branches.
• Complying with health and safety procedures while working with chemicals.
• Making sure that all equipment and machinery is properly maintained and secure,, reporting any defects and complying with manufacturers’ instructions and PPE recommendations.
• Working to set timeframes and targets.
• Completing a daily record of work.

Essential requirements

• Full UK driving licence
• High level of attention to detail
• Self-motivation with the ability to work as part of a team
• The ability to multi-task
• Willingness to participate in training programmes

Valet experience is preferred, but training can be provided for a candidate who demonstrates a high level of enthusiasm and the other required criteria. Arnold Clark also operates a Valet Academy which all new valet staff will attend.
