Job summary

Nottingham City Council is recruiting a Rent Operations Manager to lead the Income Team within Housing Services, overseeing rent recovery and revenue protection across the service.

The role requires strong leadership in a fast-paced, customer-facing environment, with the ability to set targets, develop procedures, and provide debt and benefit advice to tenants, while ensuring compliant operations.

Qualifications

• Previous management experience gained in a fast moving, pressurised housing management or customer facing environment dealing with complex issues and competing priorities.
• The ability to lead and motivate a team enabling high quality performance
• Positive, professional attitude to getting things done
• Proven experience, knowledge and understanding of legal framework relating to housing services and people management
• Excellent written, verbal, interpersonal & presentation skills
• Be able to make clear decisions on complex issues in a timely manner

Responsibilities

• We will look to you to effectively manage the recovery of unpaid rent and maximise revenue and fund essential services within Nottingham City Council's Housing Services.
• You will be responsible for the management of the Income Team, including the setting and monitoring of team and individual targets and will lead service delivery.
• Develop robust procedures and performance standards for the service, ensuring customers receive an effective range of appropriate support and assistance in paying their rent, including benefit and debt advice.
