Job summary

5 Star Recruitment is seeking a Housing Rent Recovery Officer to support tenants in Temporary Accommodation and Council Housing, focusing on efficient rent collection and compliance with recovery processes. You will contact tenants systematically, assess their circumstances, and work with partner agencies to maximise income while delivering a high-quality service.

You will also maintain records of actions taken to recover income and arrears, ensuring continuous monitoring of outcomes and tenancy

Responsibilities

• Maximise rent recovery from customers in Temporary Accommodation and Council Housing according to the rent recovery process.
• Receive transfers from the 1st Stage Rent Recovery team and other teams as applicable.
• Provide focused input to tenants with high rent arrears to resolve issues and deliver high-quality service.
• Conduct an in-depth assessment of customers with a focus on rent recovery.
• Provide case-management support based on a holistic view of needs and income maximisation.
• Contact tenants in a systematic way that optimises support and rent recovery, with personalised contact where possible.
• Maintain accurate, up-to-date records of actions taken to recover income and arrears, and monitor impact.
• Help customers manage arrears as they move between temporary accommodation solutions.
• Work with other agencies to maximise income for customers and the organisation.
• Contribute to delivery of internal Housing Services processes within the Rent Recovery remit.

To conduct an in-depth assessment of customers to understand their situation, with a focus on rent recovery.

Providing a case-management approach, supporting the customer based on a holistic view of their needs and their income maximisation potential

To contact tenants in a systematic way that optimises support and rent recovery, with an emphasis of personalised contact wherever possible

To maintain accurate and up-to-date records of action taken to recover income and arrears and to monitor and record the impact of the actions taken.

To help customers manage their arrears as they move between temporary accommodation solutions

To work in conjunction with all other appropriate agencies to ensure maximisation of income for both customers and the organisation

To contribute to delivery of internal Housing Services processes that fall within the Rent Recovery teams remit
