Job summary

St George's, Epsom and St Helier University Hospitals and Health Group is seeking a Ward Manager for the Renal wards to provide clinical leadership and ensure the delivery of holistic care in acute renal services. The role combines direct clinical care with nursing leadership, education and development, and the implementation of evidence-based guidelines in line with NICE and renal governance.

Responsibilities

Ensure that all care delivered is evidence based and that guidelines are up to date.
Monitor standards of care using fundamentals of care audit framework.
Selection, deployment, training and development of staff and students.
Assess, develops and implement specialised nursing packages of care in collaboration with the multi-disciplinary team to maintain standards.
To create and support an environment of lifelong learning and continuous professional development.
Refers and orders specialised tests in line with agreed protocols and clinical governance guidelines.
Delivers specialist haemodialysis treatments including HDF & SLED in acute setting.
Delivers specialist respiratory care acute CPAP, Optiflow and Bipap.
Educational strategies that ensure patient care needs are met.
Provides highly specialised nursing advice to ensure appropriate treatment and care is delivered to the patient at all times.
