Job summary

Portsmouth Hospitals University NHS Trust is seeking an experienced Senior Matron to lead the renal inpatient, outpatient and dialysis services from Queen Alexandra Hospital. You will drive quality improvement, workforce redesign and service transformation, providing visible and compassionate leadership across the Renal Centre.

You will collaborate with consultant colleagues, operational leaders and multidisciplinary teams to deliver outstanding clinical quality, patient experience and safety,

Qualifications

• NMC registration (1st level) and registered nursing qualification.
• First Degree or equivalent; likely a registered mid/leadership role.
• Masters or equivalent with leadership or education focus.
• Formal management/leadership qualification or evidence.
• Ongoing professional development demonstrated.
• Experience in project management and education/training.
• Teaching qualification or experience preferred.
• Evidence of publication or scholarly activity is advantageous.
• Experience leading change in clinical environments.

Responsibilities

• Lead nursing and midwifery strategy at divisional level.
• Implement and monitor quality indicators and patient experience.
• Drive corporate Patient Involvement and Patient Experience strategies.
• Provide professional leadership for Nursing, Midwifery and other professionals.
• Collaborate to ensure education and training meets clinical needs.
