Job summary

University Hospitals Plymouth NHS Trust is seeking an enthusiastic dietitian to join the renal dietetic team. The role may be Band 5/6 development with progression after 6–12 months, depending on competences. Travel across Derriford Hospital, Plymouth Dialysis Unit and satellite sites will be required.

You will provide expert renal dietetic care, education, and participate in MDT activities. Interviews will be held in person, with preference for internal staff.

Qualifications

• Proven experience in renal dietetics and support across CKD, dialysis, AKI or transplantation.
• Experience working within a renal MDT and with diverse clinical teams.
• Evidence of ongoing CPD and professional development activities.

Responsibilities

• Provide expert renal dietetic care for kidney patients, including nutrition diagnosis and care plans.
• Deliver complex nutritional counselling and motivational interviewing to improve adherence.
• Educate patients and staff on renal nutrition and treatment pathways.
• Work autonomously within the renal MDT to support service delivery and audits.
• Travel between Derriford Hospital, Plymouth Dialysis Unit and satellite sites as required.
