Job summary

Pickfords is seeking a Driver/Porter to support relocations from our depot in Cottesmore and travel to multiple military sites. You will handle loading/unloading, risk assessments, and safe vehicle operations as part of a team.

The role is full-time, in-person, with overtime paid and a salary around £25,974. A B1 entitlement driving licence is essential, plus good English, health and safety awareness, and fitness for manual handling.

Qualifications

• Must have a valid UK driving licence (B1 entitlement) and be able to drive manual cars.
• Good spoken English and clear communication.
• Ability to perform manual handling safely.
• Health and safety awareness and risk assessment knowledge.

Responsibilities

• Safely complete relocation tasks as part of a team.
• Carry out work-site risk assessments as required.
• Assist in loading and unloading of vehicles.
• Disassemble/assemble flat-pack furniture safely.

This role is based in a warehouse (Cottesmore) and traveling to multiple military sites. With no lone working you will always be part of a great team.

Current salary: £25974

Hours of work:

Monday to Thursday 7:30am till 3:30pm

Friday 7:30am till 14:30pm

Extra hours maybe required to carry out some deliveries / collections, overtime will be paid.

What we're looking for in our Driver/Porter:

• Manual Handling and Customer Service skills
• Good problem-solving skills
• Excellent spoken English
• Health & Safety Awareness
• Risk Assessment Knowledge
• Driving licence with “B1 entitlement” / Manual car license (essential)
• Good level of fitness

Responsibilities include:

• Safe and successful completion of any relocation tasks
• Carry out point of work risk assessments as required
• Assist in loading and unloading of vehicles
• Carry out the safe assembly and dis-assembly of flat pack furniture.
