Job summary

Oceaneering is seeking a Remote Inspection Engineer for a 6-month fixed-term contract based in Aberdeen. You will review work packs, assess point clouds/STLs, and perform remote visual inspections to identify defects and recommend actions.

The role requires safety awareness and collaboration with clients to ensure satisfaction. Applicants should have an engineering qualification (HNC/HND/BSc), certifications (APIs, ASME I/II, UKAS RG2 Cat 3), and experience in offshore inspection.

Qualifications

Formal engineering or technical qualification (HNC/HND/BSc).
APIs (API 510/570/579) and ASME I/II code certification.
UKAS RG2 Cat 3 certification.

Responsibilities

Ensure remote inspection workspace complies with safety procedures and display screen equipment guidelines.
Review work packs to understand scopes and raise questions to progress the scope.
Review point cloud data and STL files to ensure alignment with the scope.
Communicate any issues that could delay timely delivery of the scope to stakeholders.
Complete administrative tasks including timesheets, daily reports and inspection reports.
Liaise with the client’s representative to ensure the work scope is understood and meeting expectations.
Carry out remote visual inspections using desktop applications to identify defects per criteria.
Form recommendations and report findings to the client.
Perform tasks independently and report concerns to Technical Manager and QHSE Manager.
Participate in safety procedures, toolbox talks, risk assessments and safety audits on site.
