Job summary

Pearson is recruiting a Visiting Moderator for Art & Design to remotely moderate BTEC next generation assessments across centres in the Greater London area. Moderation involves sampling and applying Pearson's marking criteria to centre work during the May–July window.

You will have one academic year's teaching experience, be a qualified teacher, and work well under pressure to meet deadlines while upholding high subject knowledge to apply the mark scheme.

Qualifications

• One academic year's teaching experience: within last 8 years, relevant subject and level, since qualifying as a teacher.
• Ability to work well under pressure and meet deadlines.
• High level of subject knowledge to apply the mark scheme.

Responsibilities

• Moderation of parts of a subject examination marked by teachers in centres, using sampling procedures.
• Direct assessment of school-based components when centres opt not to make initial assessments if necessary.
