Job summary

CVS Group UK is seeking a Clinical Data Scientist to lead analytics and health data science across the organisation, transforming veterinary clinical data into actionable insights for patient outcomes and clinical standards.

The role combines clinical data strategy with research support, dashboard development, and ML/NLP methods, with a remote arrangement and travel to meetings as needed.

Qualifications

• Post-graduate training in health data science, epidemiology, statistics, computer science, or a related discipline (PhD preferred, or Master's degree).
• A degree in veterinary, medical or related clinical sciences is desirable.
• Strong experience with large scale health data, research databases or EHR datasets.
• Experience with Power BI.
• Experience with statistical modelling, ML and predictive analytics.
• Expertise in SQL, Python, R and standard data practices.
• Experience with data lakes and data warehouses (on-premise and cloud).
• Familiar with unsupervised text mining, MLOps, LLMs or generative AI is desirable.

Responsibilities

• Lead analysis of veterinary clinical datasets, including EHR data from our practice management system, to generate actionable insights.
• Develop and maintain data visualisation dashboards for clinical improvement.
• Apply statistical, ML and AI methodologies to support clinical decision-making and patient outcomes.
• Explore unstructured data via free-text notes and NLP approaches.
• Collaborate with clinical teams to deliver solutions aligned to our clinical strategy.
• Design and optimize data models, analytical workflows, and reporting solutions.
• Translate analyses into clear insights and recommendations for stakeholders.
• Ensure analytics adhere to data governance, quality and reproducibility standards.
