Job summary

Sellick Partnership is recruiting a Technical Accountant (Capital & Treasury) for a 6-9 month interim contract. The role is fully remote and focuses on treasury management, capital accounting, fixed assets, and statutory reporting within a Local Government context.

The successful candidate will lead cashflow forecasting, oversee borrowing and investments, support year-end closes, and ensure timely statutory accounts, with partnership across finance teams and external advisors.

Qualifications

• Experience in Local Government finance and capital accounting.
• Strong treasury management knowledge and year-end close experience.
• Proven cash flow management and analytical abilities.
• Excellent communication skills with colleagues and stakeholders.

Responsibilities

• Lead on treasury management activities, including cashflow forecasting, borrowing and investment management.
• Prepare treasury management reports and Prudential Indicators.
• Support the production of statutory accounts and year-end closedown processes.
• Maintain and develop fixed asset and grant registers.
• Assist with capital programme monitoring and reporting.
• Prepare and submit financial and statistical returns to central government.
• Deliver variance analysis and technical accounting support to senior finance colleagues.
• Liaise with treasury advisors, auditors, brokers and banking partners as required.
• Contribute to budget setting and medium-term financial planning processes.
