Job summary

Primer is hiring a Solutions Engineer to act as a trusted technical advisor for major merchants, translating complex needs into scalable payment solutions on Primer's platform. From discovery to product demos, you’ll guide technical strategy and ensure integrations are rock-solid.

Fluency in French and English is required, with remote-first work and collaboration across Product, Engineering, and Sales. You’ll identify merchant pain points, provide technical input to drive business development,

Qualifications

• Experience in a merchant-facing role with a complex API product, ideally in payments.
• Ability to lead discovery sessions with technical counterparts at major merchants.
• Deep interest or knowledge of tech; able to explain and design complex specs.
• Creative and improvisational; adapt to diverse merchant needs.
• Strong communication & presentations to technical and non-technical stakeholders.
• A collaborative approach across Product, Engineering, Sales and clients.
• Motivation to grow with a rapidly scaling company.
• Ability to deliver impact and get things done in a fast-paced environment.
• Experience working in a fast-paced, scaling environment.

Responsibilities

• Work closely with the growing sales team to identify merchant pain points and articulate Primer's value.
• Provide technical expertise to the sales team to support business development.
• Translate business requirements into technical solutions and simplify complex concepts.
• Lead discovery sessions, solution design workshops, demos, and Q&A with developers.
• Collaborate with Product to identify feature enhancements and new market-ready features.
