Job summary

CyberCoders is seeking a Software Engineering Manager to lead multiple engineering teams in delivering distributed systems and cloud-native services within a hybrid working model in the Greater London area. You will own technical direction, drive architecture decisions, and partner with product managers to translate roadmaps into reliable production services.

Qualifications

10+ years of software engineering experience, incl. 3+ years in management or technical lead roles delivering distributed systems.
Proven experience in software architecture and system design for high availability, scalability, performance and resilience.
Strong track record with microservices, event-driven architectures, RESTful APIs and gRPC.

Responsibilities

Lead, mentor, and grow multiple engineering teams; hire, coach, conduct performance reviews and promote career development.
Define and own technical direction and architecture for scalable, high-availability systems and microservices.
Set standards for design, code quality, testing, and release practices.
Partner with product managers to translate roadmaps into delivery plans and reliable production services.
Drive system design reviews, including distributed patterns, event-driven architectures, data modeling for SQL/NoSQL.
Own the SDLC and Agile/SCRUM delivery processes, including sprint planning and estimations.
Champion CI/CD and DevOps practices to accelerate safe delivery and automated releases.
