Job summary

Placements24 is seeking a vigilant Information Security Analyst to join its Security Operations Center (SOC) team as a Level 1 analyst. This fully remote entry-level role focuses on monitoring alerts, initial triage, and escalating incidents to higher-level analysts from a home office.

You will work with SIEM, IDS/IPS, and endpoint security tools, document findings, and help refine monitoring procedures. A degree in cybersecurity or IT and a willingness to learn are required; CompTIA Security+

Qualifications

• Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Cybersecurity, IT, or related field.
• Certifications such as CompTIA Security+ are a plus.
• Foundational cybersecurity and networking knowledge.
• Familiarity with SIEM/IDS/IPS and security concepts.
• Strong analytical and communication skills; detail-oriented.

Responsibilities

• Monitor security alerts from SIEM, IDS/IPS, and endpoint tools.
• Perform initial analysis and triage of security events.
• Respond to and document security incidents per procedures.
• Escalate incidents to SOC Level 2/3 and other teams.
• Maintain logs and records of events and actions.
• Assist in developing SOC monitoring playbooks.
