Job summary

Moat Homes in England is seeking a Service Charge Officer to ensure service charges are budgeted and charged fairly, and to complete year-end reconciliations. You will support agile working, with the Dartford office as a base.

You will set annual estimates, reconcile scheme accounts, monitor performance of managing agents, and liaise with external auditors. A good numerical background and MS Office proficiency are essential.

Qualifications

• Good numerical ability and attention to detail.
• Working knowledge of MS Office, especially Excel.
• Familiarity with financial and other database systems.
• Operational understanding of service charges legislation and housing sector context.
• Experience with year-end reconciliations is an asset.

Responsibilities

• Set service charge estimates for existing stock annually, compliant with tenancy agreements and legislation.
• Regularly reconcile scheme accounts and provide reports for investigation and resolution.
• Reconcile actual costs for stock with variable service charges and issue year-end statements.
• Monitor managing agents' financial performance and challenge inaccuracies.
• Notify residents of reserve/sinking fund balances after reconciliation.
