Job summary

NATS Ltd is seeking a Senior Technical Designer to own the end-to-end technology design for critical services. You will collaborate with Service Design Managers, Enterprise Architects and project teams to deliver secure, scalable architectures that meet safety-critical requirements.

The role emphasizes ITIL-aligned governance, design authority, and proactive risk management, with flexible/hybrid working options and opportunities to influence national air traffic systems.

Qualifications

• Degree in engineering or IT with safety-critical experience.
• SFIA level 6 capability and above.
• Experience leading technology design in safety-critical contexts.
• Strong ITIL knowledge and governance experience.
• Proven leadership and stakeholder management across multi-disciplined teams.

Responsibilities

• Own end-to-end Technical Design for a Service or Asset group.
• Review and approve high/low-level technical designs and governance submissions.
• Assess impact of changes to ensure design envelope compliance.
• Coordinate and lead cross-functional teams to meet tight timescales.
• Develop technology strategies aligned with business objectives.
