Job summary

Placements24 is seeking a Senior Geophysicist specialized in seismic processing to join a remote-first technical team. You will design, execute, and quality control processing workflows from raw data through migration, ensuring high fidelity results for exploration and development projects.

The ideal candidate has 10+ years in seismic data processing, deep knowledge of ProMAX/Omega, ACQUIRE and Jason, and a track record of delivering complex projects in distributed settings.

Qualifications

• Master's degree or PhD in Geophysics or a related quantitative field.
• 10+ years of professional seismic data processing experience.
• Expertise with leading seismic processing software and algorithms.
• Strong understanding of seismic wave propagation and migration.
• Proven ability to deliver complex processing projects on time and within budget.
• Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills for remote teams.

Responsibilities

• Design, implement, and optimize seismic data processing flows from raw data to final product, including pre-stack time and depth migration.
• Conduct quality control and assurance on processed seismic data, ensuring accuracy and geological relevance.
• Troubleshoot processing challenges and develop innovative solutions to improve data quality and resolution.
• Collaborate with geophysical interpreters and geologists to ensure processed data meets project requirements.
• Evaluate and recommend new seismic processing technologies and methodologies.
• Mentor junior geophysicists and contribute to the development of processing best practices.
