Job summary

Exient is seeking a Fractional Senior Game Designer for a remote contractor role in the United Kingdom. You will own end‑to‑end feature design for live mobile games, including economy, onboarding, retention, and monetisation, while collaborating with cross‑discipline teams.

You will drive AI‑assisted design workflows, prototype rapidly, and mentor junior designers. The role requires autonomy, strong communication, and the ability to thrive across multiple projects.

Qualifications

• Five years or more in game design, preferably in mobile titles.
• Experience shipping and operating live mobile games.
• Degree in Games Design or related field, or equivalent professional experience.
• Experience with complex multi‑project environments.
• Portfolio showing senior‑level design thinking across mechanics, economy, and player experience.

Responsibilities

• Own feature and systems design for live free‑to‑play games from concept to docs and post‑launch tuning.
• Design based on data and player behaviour; work with Product, Analytics, and Production on KPIs and monetisation.
• Deliver seasonal and event content to keep games fresh across live ops.
• Contribute to a varied portfolio including core and partner titles; balance priorities.
• Contribute to concepts, pitches, and design docs for projects and partners.
• Design within real‑world constraints to meet compliance and player‑first goals.
• Advance design workflow with AI-assisted tools and determine where human judgement counts.
• Collaborate with artists, engineers and producers to ship polished, integrated features.
• Prototype and pressure‑test ideas quickly; iterate with playtests to refine feel.
