Job summary

ITSS Recruitment Ltd is seeking senior or mid-level Data Platform Engineers for a fully remote UK role with occasional travel to London or Manchester. You will design, build and maintain automated Azure and Snowflake data platform components, using Terraform and CI/CD pipelines to enable rapid deployments.

You will mentor engineers, promote best practices in automation and monitoring, and ensure security and performance while collaborating with business and data science teams.

Qualifications

• Extensive experience in platform engineering with Azure-based data solutions.
• Expert-level knowledge of Azure and/or Snowflake services (Data Factory, Data Lake, Azure ML, Power BI/Fabric).
• Proven IaC with Terraform and CI/CD pipelines via Azure DevOps and GitHub Actions.
• Strong observability: logging, metrics, alerting, performance optimization.
• Cloud security expertise in Azure and/or Snowflake (IAM, network isolation, data protection).
• Scripting in PowerShell, Bash, or Python.
• Cross-functional collaboration with engineering, data science and business teams.
• Leadership experience; mentoring engineers and promoting best practices.
• Expert Terraform knowledge with 5+ years of experience.
• Certifications are desirable.

Responsibilities

• Design and deliver automated, scalable Azure and Snowflake data platform components.
• Maintain infrastructure-as-code using Terraform across environments.
• Build and optimise CI/CD pipelines with Azure DevOps and GitHub Actions.
• Implement observability tooling for comprehensive monitoring.
• Collaborate with Lead Engineer and Architects to align with standards.
• Mentor mid-level engineers and promote automation and monitoring best practices.
• Contribute to a robust data platform enabling advanced analytics and BI.
• Ensure performance, security and technical excellence across the platform.
