Job summary

GitLab Inc. is seeking an Assigned Support Engineer to act as a trusted technical advisor for our largest Self-managed, GitLab Dedicated, and GitLab.com customers.

Qualifications

• Background managing complex, customer facing support cases end to end.
• Advanced troubleshooting across multi-layered systems to find root causes.
• Strong Linux administration knowledge and debugging tools.
• Practical experience with GitLab and CI/CD, including deployment models and outages.
• Ability to write and maintain clear, reusable support content such as runbooks and guides.
• Proficiency with scripting languages (Ruby or Bash) and MVC frameworks (Ruby on Rails).
• Effective communication to explain complex topics to varied audiences.

Responsibilities

• Provide technical support to largest Self-managed, GitLab Dedicated, and GitLab.com customers.
• Troubleshoot and resolve complex, critical issues using Zendesk, logs, and Linux utilities.
• Build proactive relationships with customer stakeholders to address blockers.
• Advise customers on incidents and how outages impact workflows and mitigations.
• Create and improve support content to help customers and teams.
• Contribute to team growth by participating in hiring processes.
