Job summary
Areti Group | B Corp™ is seeking a Scala Lead Developer for a public sector programme. The role is remote with a requirement to be in Newcastle about 2 days per month. You will provide hands-on technical leadership and design full-stack solutions across front-end and back-end layers.
Lead the design and implementation of Scala-based solutions, mentor developers, and drive architectural decisions. You will build microservices with Play Framework and collaborate with DevOps, QA, and stakeholders.
Qualifications
- Strong Scala and functional programming experience.
- Proven lead developer / technical leadership experience.
- Experience influencing architectural decisions.
- Experience with CI/CD, Git, and modern tooling.
- MacOS or Linux experience.
- Strong communication and stakeholder management skills.
Responsibilities
- Leading the design and implementation of Scala-based solutions.
- Providing technical leadership, mentoring and guidance to developers.
- Building and maintaining microservices using Play Framework.
- Driving architectural discussions and technical decisions.
- Championing best practices around code quality, testing and deployment.
- Collaborating with DevOps, QA and wider stakeholders.
- Working across large codebases and influencing technical direction.
