The role involves designing, configuring, and managing PostgreSQL, Aurora, and RDS instances with a focus on performance and reliability. You will work closely with software and infrastructure teams to implement best practices, perform migrations, and ensure robust backup and disaster recovery

Qualifications

• Active SC Clearance mandatory.
• Extensive commercial experience as a PostgreSQL DBA.
• Cloud experience with AWS, Aurora (PostgreSQL-compatible) and RDS.
• Strong performance tuning, indexing, and troubleshooting.
• Public sector or secure environments experience is advantageous.

Responsibilities

• Design, configure, and manage PostgreSQL, Amazon Aurora, and Amazon RDS instances.
• Drive database performance tuning, slow query troubleshooting, and proactive monitoring.
• Execute schema updates, migrations, and engine upgrades safely within cloud ecosystems.
• Support disaster recovery, backup protocols, and high-availability setups.
• Collaborate with software and infrastructure teams on database design best practices.
