Job summary

Investigo seeks a Senior Database Administrator with active SC clearance to lead the design, operation, and optimization of critical AWS-based database platforms in a hybrid London setup. The role focuses on Aurora, RDS, and PostgreSQL with responsibility for DR, performance tuning and data integrity.

You will drive architecture decisions, support governance, and collaborate with cloud teams to ensure robust, scalable database solutions and smooth CI/CD integration.

Qualifications

• Active SC Clearance held by a Government agency within the last 6 months.
• Lead architecture and delivery of enterprise AWS database solutions (Aurora, RDS, PostgreSQL).
• Design scalable, resilient and highly available database platforms with DR strategies.
• Drive database performance optimisation through SQL development, query tuning, and plan analysis.
• Manage operations including upgrades, patching, security, monitoring, capacity planning, backup and recovery.
• Troubleshoot production issues, data reconciliation and root cause analysis of data discrepancies.
• Collaborate with architects, developers and cloud teams to support governance, automation and CI/CD.

Responsibilities

• Lead design, operation and optimisation of enterprise AWS databases.
• Architect and implement highly available database platforms with DR plans.
• Coordinate upgrades, patching and security for critical systems.
• Tune queries and optimize performance; monitor capacity and recovery procedures.
