Job summary

Kensington and Chelsea is seeking a Rehabilitation Officer (Visual Impairment) to join a busy community team. The role involves assessing needs, planning rehabilitation, and promoting independent living using assistive devices and training.

The contract is initially 3–6 months with potential for extension. Salary is £38–£40 per hour, with a full-time arrangement and the possibility to work from home, plus opportunities for further training and free onsite parking.

Qualifications

• Experience as Rehabilitation Officer in the community.
• Enhanced DBS/CRB (we can obtain for you).
• Eligibility to work in the UK.

Responsibilities

• Undertake specialist visual impairment assessments to identify needs and promote independent living.
• Plan and carry out programmes to meet rehabilitation needs, including communication and use of equipment for reading and writing.
• Support independent living skills and safety through tools and techniques in daily living.
• Provide guidance on equipment and adapt to individual needs.
• Assist with mobility and orientation training where necessary.
