Job summary

Brio Digital Limited is seeking a Python/Django Software Engineer to join a central government programme. You will build and improve digital services on AWS, delivering reliable, secure software in a multidisciplinary team.

The role is remote with occasional on-site presence in London (1–2 days per month). You will design and maintain web apps and APIs, write clean tests, participate in code reviews, and contribute to CI/CD in an Agile delivery environment.

Qualifications

• Strong commercial experience with Python and Django.
• Hands-on AWS experience (EC2, Lambda, RDS, S3 or ECS).
• Experience building and consuming RESTful APIs.
• Relational databases knowledge, ideally PostgreSQL.
• Experience with automated testing and CI/CD.
• Agile delivery team experience.

Responsibilities

• Design, build and maintain web applications and APIs in Python and Django.
• Develop and deploy services on AWS.
• Write clean, well-tested and maintainable code.
• Take part in code reviews and help raise engineering standards.
• Work with product, design and delivery colleagues in an Agile team.
• Support CI/CD pipelines and automated testing.
• Troubleshoot and fix issues across development and live environments.
