Vincere is seeking a Python/Django Software Engineer to join a central government programme. You will build and improve digital services on AWS, working in a multidisciplinary team to deliver reliable, secure and user-focused software.

This role is remote with 1–2 days a month in London and requires SC clearance. Responsibilities include designing and maintaining web apps and APIs in Python/Django, deploying on AWS, and contributing to CI/CD and automated testing.

Qualifications

• Strong commercial experience with Python and Django.
• Hands-on AWS experience covering EC2, Lambda, RDS, S3 or ECS.
• Experience building and consuming RESTful APIs.
• Solid understanding of relational databases, ideally PostgreSQL.
• Experience with automated testing and CI/CD.
• Comfortable working in Agile delivery teams.

• Rate: £500/day Outside IR35
• Duration: 3 months initial

Key Requirements

• Strong commercial experience with Python and Django
• Hands-on AWS experience covering services such as EC2, Lambda, RDS, S3 or ECS

Desirable

• Previous central government or public sector experience
• Knowledge of the GDS Service Standard and GOV.UK Design System
• Infrastructure as Code using Terraform or CloudFormation
• Docker and containerised deployments
