Job summary

Scrumconnect Ltd is seeking an Early Careers Content Designer to join a multidisciplinary delivery team for a key government client. This remote UK role offers a permanent, full-time position with a salary up to £35,000 and benefits.

You will craft clear, accessible content across service journeys, guided by GOV.UK principles, with collaboration from analysts, product managers and researchers. The role includes internal bids, intranet support, and skill-building opportunities.

Qualifications

• 1 to 2 years of industry experience.
• Experience as a Content Designer in UK public sector.
• Knowledge of GOV.UK content design principles and the GOV.UK style guide.
• Proven ability to write clear, plain English for non-specialist audiences.
• Experience working with user researchers and using research/data to improve content.
• Experience designing content for transactional services (forms, guidance, notifications).
• Understanding of accessibility and inclusive content (WCAG 2.2 AA).
• Experience in agile, multidisciplinary teams and stakeholder collaboration.
• Knowledge of the GDS Service Standard and content role across Discovery, Alpha, Beta.

Responsibilities

• Collaborate with Business Analyst, Product Manager and User Researcher to understand user problems.
• Ensure content supports service goals and user needs.
• Create content per GOV.UK style and service design.
• Write and structure content across user journeys (pages, guidance, errors, notifications).
• Improve content based on user research, testing, feedback and analytics.
• Coordinate with designers and developers to integrate content into the service.
• Explain content decisions to subject matter experts and stakeholders.
• Maintain accessibility and consistency by following style guides.
• Share learnings and contribute to content standards within the team.
• Document content decisions and hand over guidelines at engagement end.
