Job summary

AtkinsRéalis, a world-class engineering services company, invites applications for an experienced Protection and Control Group Discipline Lead based in Birmingham (with options for other offices). You will lead a team of protection and control engineers, deliver FEED and detailed design for major transmission projects, and ensure quality and client alignment while growing the team.

Ideal candidates hold a Electrical Engineering degree, Chartered Engineer status, and experience in IEC 61850,

Qualifications

• Degree in Electrical Engineering or equivalent.
• Experience leading protection & control teams.
• Chartered Engineer status desirable; TP-141, CDAE desirable.
• Proven P&C design experience for substations and renewables.

Responsibilities

• Line manage a team of protection and control engineers, providing mentorship, performance management, and career development support.
• Lead P&C FEED and detailed design for major transmission scale projects, ensuring technical integrity.
• Drive quality assurance and the delivery of FEED, detailed design, and bid submissions to a high standard.
