Job summary

Yorkshire Water is seeking a Project Engineer to join the Specialist Projects Team. This remote role involves regular travel to sites two days per week, 37 hours per week, Monday to Friday, with a competitive salary and a comprehensive benefits package.

You will develop engineered solutions, manage design coordination, ensure CDM compliance, and drive safe delivery of projects while maintaining financial controls and stakeholder relationships.

Qualifications

• Electrical, ICA, Mechanical or Process Engineering apprenticeship or degree.
• ONC/HNC/BTEC in Electrical, ICA, Mechanical or Process Engineering.
• Understanding of CDM regulations and their practical application.
• Knowledge of control of works—Permits, POWRA, RAMS, LOLER, EWAR, etc.
• Experience with electrical, ICA, mechanical and process equipment for engineered solutions.
• Understanding of design and project delivery including hazard identification and risk assessment.

Responsibilities

• Develop and deliver cost engineered solutions in response to business risks.
• Coordinate design and ensure projects follow the established engineering management process.
• Ensure CDM regulations compliance and assume Principal Contractor duties where applicable.
• Manage project execution ensuring alignment with Health, Safety and Environmental and engineering standards.
• Prepare contracts and scopes of works and undertake tender processes with framework contractors.
• Apply robust financial management controls throughout the project delivery process.
