Job summary

Yorkshire Water is seeking a Project Engineer to join the Specialist Projects Team. You will develop cost-engineered solutions and coordinate design across projects, ensuring CDM compliance and robust financial controls.

The role features remote work with regular travel to sites two days a week, permanent 37-hour weeks, and progression opportunities. You will work within a regulated utility delivering capital programmes, with strong collaboration across supply chains and a focus on safe,

Qualifications

• Electrical, ICA, mechanical or process engineering apprenticeship or Engineering degree.
• ONC/HNC/BTEC in Electrical, ICA, Mechanical or Process Engineering.
• Knowledge of CDM regulations and practical application.
• Understanding of control of works - Permits, POWRA, RAMS, LOLER, EWAR.
• Broad experience with electrical, ICA, mechanical and process equipment.
• Understanding design and project delivery processes including hazard identification.
• Able to respond to wide range of technical and non-technical queries.
• Understands and has experience of DSEAR, ATEX Directives and British standards.
• Understands and has experience of COSHH regulation and British standards.

Responsibilities

• Develop and deliver cost engineered solutions in response to Business Risks.
• Manage and coordinate the design, ensuring all projects follow the correct management process for engineering acceptance against the agree scope.
• Ensures CDM compliance including: Undertaking the duties of Principal Contractor on behalf of Yorkshire Water; Assisting the Client & Principal Designer with their duties.
• Manage the execution of the project ensuring alignment with Health, Safety and Environmental and engineering standards.
• Prepare contract and scope of works documentation and undertake tender process with framework contractors.
• Ensure robust financial management controls are applied throughout the project delivery process.
