Job summary

Hamilton Barnes is seeking a Project Engineer to join its integration team on a permanent remote basis. You will connect the company’s software platform to critical infrastructure in data centres and commercial facilities, leading integrations from discovery through to commissioning across BACnet, Modbus, and SNMP.

Ideal candidates will have hands-on experience with BMS/BAS/DCIM systems, strong networking fundamentals, and customer-facing confidence.

Qualifications

• Experience integrating BMS, BAS, EPMS, or DCIM systems in data centre or commercial buildings.
• Strong knowledge of BACnet/MSTP and IP routing for device discovery.
• Hands-on Modbus TCP/RTU experience and SNMP operations.
• Solid IP networking fundamentals and ability to read schematics.

Responsibilities

• Lead technical discovery with customers to define integration scope and requirements.
• Configure and commission integrations using BACnet, Modbus, and SNMP.
• Create point mappings with correct scaling, units, and data types.
• Troubleshoot communication issues using protocol analysers and tools.
• Collaborate with controls contractors and IT/OT teams on network access.
• Produce integration documentation including diagrams and reports.
• Provide feedback to Product and Engineering teams to improve connectors and templates.
• Support post-deployment issues and escalations from Customer Success.
