Job summary

VERTEC SERVICES Ltd seeks an experienced BMS Design Engineer for a fully remote contract delivering complex data centre projects across Europe. You will design and develop BMS and controls architectures, collaborating with engineering, construction and commissioning teams to ensure seamless integration of critical automation systems.

The role focuses on creating control philosophies, schedules and network topologies, with hands-on experience in BACnet/Modbus, and exposure to leading platforms

Qualifications

• Previous experience within BMS Design, Controls Engineering or Building Automation.
• Strong understanding of HVAC plant and associated control systems.
• Experience producing control philosophies, points schedules and network topologies.
• Knowledge of BACnet, Modbus and other industry-standard communication protocols.
• Experience with platforms such as Tridium Niagara, Schneider EcoStruxure, Siemens Desigo or Trend.
• Data centre, mission-critical or critical infrastructure experience would be highly advantageous.

Responsibilities

• Produce detailed BMS design documentation, including points schedules, control panel layouts, wiring schematics and control strategies.
• Design and develop BMS network architectures using protocols such as BACnet and Modbus.
• Coordinate with mechanical, electrical and IT teams throughout the project lifecycle.
• Review technical submissions, RFIs and contractor proposals.
• Support FAT and SAT activities and assist with commissioning processes.
• Ensure designs comply with client requirements, industry standards and energy efficiency objectives.
• Work with industry-leading BMS platforms including Tridium Niagara, Schneider, Siemens and Trend.
