Job summary

Baker Street Recruitment is seeking an experienced Project Director – BESS for a remote UK role. You will lead a utility-scale battery energy storage project through FID, construction and commissioning to COD, taking overall responsibility for delivery within budget, schedule and safety requirements.

You will coordinate technical, commercial and delivery workstreams, manage EPC contractors and grid connectivity, and report progress to investment teams and senior stakeholders, while maintaining

Qualifications

• Demonstrated experience leading utility-scale BESS projects through construction and handover.
• Experience progressing energy infrastructure to FID or notice to proceed, including procurement and risk assessment.
• Senior responsibility for budgets, programmes, contracts and multidisciplinary teams.

Responsibilities

• Lead the project through FID, construction and commissioning to COD with clear delivery strategy.
• Oversee EPC contractors, battery suppliers, balance of plant and other delivery partners.
• Coordinate technical, commercial and delivery workstreams and ensure risk is managed and reported.
• Maintain governance, reporting, forecasting and change control with investment teams.
• Manage grid connection, energisation, commissioning activities and handover to operations.
• Build/maintain relationships with regulators, landowners, lenders and project stakeholders.
