Job summary

Habito is seeking a Post-Completion Expert/Legal Support to join the conveyancing team and own the post-completion process. You’ll work with conveyancers, clients, lenders, HM Land Registry, and third parties to conclude files accurately and on time.

The role emphasizes adaptability, focus, and staying calm under pressure while handling registrations, post-completion tasks, and communications. Experience in residential property is a bonus.

• Strong administrative skills and a high level of attention to detail.
• Organised, proactive, and able to manage multiple tasks and deadlines.
• Collaborative and team focused, with a can do attitude.
• Excellent communication skills, comfortable liaising with clients, colleagues, and third parties.
• Motivated to learn and grow, with a willingness to take ownership of tasks and improve processes.
• Experience in residential property or legal work is a bonus but not essential.
• Comfortable using tools like Slack is helpful but not required.

Responsibilities

• Submit Stamp Duty Land Tax Returns and pay Stamp Duty within 14 days.
• Register with HM Land Registry within the Search Priority Period.
• Liaise with the Land Registry to progress registrations.
• Send deeds to lenders or clients after registrations.
• Handle post-completion accounts and clear balances before archiving.
• Process conveyancing mail and allocate to the Fee Earner.
• Retrieve archived files when needed.
• Carry out tasks as directed by the Fee Earner.
• Archive completed files regularly.
• Spell check and proofread all work before passing to Fee Earner.
