Job summary

Yolk Recruitment Public Sector & Not-for-Profit is seeking a Payroll Officer to join their educational organisation. This remote 3-month role involves accurate payroll processing for over 600 staff, pension analysis, and detailed reporting.

The successful candidate will work autonomously, meeting HMRC regulations and LGPS fund obligations. You will handle monthly amendments, pensions data transfers, and ensure correct deductions, while communicating effectively with the team.

Qualifications

• Practical payroll experience and pension administration.
• Knowledge of LGPS legislation and HMRC requirements.
• Ability to work independently and meet strict deadlines.

Responsibilities

• Prepare and calculate payroll amendments for monthly pay and deductions.
• Produce payroll reports and related administration.
• Reconcile monthly gross/net pay with previous month and investigate differences.
• Prepare monthly pension analysis and transfer data to ESS and I Connect systems.
• Ensure correct deduction of employee and employer pension contributions.
