Job summary

Hoop Recruitment Ltd is seeking an experienced Payroll & Pensions Officer for a three-month temporary role in Cardiff. You will support monthly payroll and LGPS administration, ensuring accurate payments and timely reporting.

You’ll work closely with the Payroll & Pensions Coordinator, taking ownership of tasks and assisting employees with queries. The role involves payroll calculations, pension contributions, and working with HR to keep records up to date.

Qualifications

• Experience with monthly payroll processing and pensions administration.
• Proficiency with LGPS calculations and contributions.
• Ability to work to deadlines and be audit-ready.

Responsibilities

• Support monthly payroll, including salary changes, statutory payments, deductions and employee benefits.
• Prepare payroll reports and reconciliations, spotting discrepancies and resolving them.
• Assist with LGPS administration, including pension calculations, contributions and returns.
• Collaborate with HR to keep employee records accurate and up to date.
• Respond to payroll and pension queries clearly and professionally.
• Help prepare information for internal and external audits.
