Job summary

Coopman Search are partnering with a newly launched, FCA-authorised investment management firm, seeking a Legal & Compliance Officer to join on a part-time, fully remote basis, initially working two days per week.

In a small, collaborative team, you will support day-to-day compliance activities and broader legal requirements, working with the COO and external counsel to develop the compliance framework and manage regulatory paperwork.

Qualifications

• Experience in legal/compliance roles.
• Experience drafting and reviewing commercial agreements and legal documentation.
• Understanding of regulatory compliance processes, FCA exposure advantageous.
• Strong organisational skills and attention to detail.
• Proactive, hands-on approach and ability to work autonomously in a small team.
• Strong communication and stakeholder management skills.
• Asset management experience not required; all regulatory backgrounds encouraged to apply.

Responsibilities

• Support day-to-day FCA regulatory compliance requirements.
• Maintain compliance training records and related documentation.
• Assist with compliance monitoring, reporting and policies.
• Draft, review and negotiate routine commercial agreements and NDAs.
• Support drafting and review of employment contracts and related documents.
• Assist with transaction-related legal matters with external counsel.
• Liaise with internal stakeholders and external advisers.
• Help develop and improve compliance processes as the business grows.
