Job summary

Coopman Search and Selection is recruiting for a newly launched, FCA-authorised investment management firm in the London Area. This is a part-time, fully remote role (initially 2 days per week) for a Legal & Compliance Officer to support day-to-day compliance activities and commercial legal requirements.

The position requires experience in legal/compliance, contract drafting, and regulatory knowledge, with the ability to work autonomously in a small team.

Qualifications

• Previous experience in a legal, compliance, or combined legal/compliance role.
• Experience drafting and reviewing commercial contracts.
• Understanding of regulatory compliance processes (FCA exposure advantageous).
• Strong organisational skills and attention to detail.
• Ability to work autonomously in a small team.

Responsibilities

• Support day-to-day administration of FCA regulatory compliance requirements.
• Maintain compliance training records, personal account dealing declarations, and gifts/entertainment registers.
• Assist with compliance monitoring, internal reporting, and policy maintenance.
• Draft, review, and negotiate routine commercial agreements (vendor contracts, NDAs).
• Support drafting and review of employment contracts.
• Assist with transaction-related legal matters alongside external counsel.
• Liaise with internal stakeholders and external advisers on legal and regulatory matters.
