Job summary

Datavant is hiring experienced outpatient coder (SDS/OBS) for a fully remote role. You will review medical records, assign diagnoses/procedures codes, and ensure accurate APC assignment while maintaining high productivity and accuracy.

Epic and 3M experience strongly preferred; active CCS or CPC-H/CIC/CPC offered with HIPAA compliance emphasis. We offer competitive benefits for full-time employees and a supportive team environment designed to advance healthcare data initiatives.

Qualifications

• AHIMA or AAPC credential required (CCS or CPC/CPC-H/CIC/CRC).
• 2+ years of hospital coding experience (Same Day Surgery, Observation, Injections/Infusions).
• Experience with Epic and 3M coding systems helpful.

Responsibilities

• Review medical records and assign accurate codes for diagnoses and procedures.
• Sequence codes based on documentation and assign discharge disposition.
• Abstract and enter coded data for hospital statistics and reporting requirements.
• Communicate coding issues and opportunities for documentation improvement to relevant staff.
• Maintain coding accuracy targets and productivity standards.
