Datavant is seeking an experienced outpatient coder to join our remote team. The ideal candidate has 3+ years of outpatient coding, CCS or CPC credentials, and strong knowledge of medical terminology.

You will review records, assign diagnoses and procedures, and ensure accurate APC sequencing while maintaining high accuracy and productivity. Remote, flexible schedule, with paid training and ongoing education.

Qualifications

• 2+ years of coding experience in a hospital and/or coding consulting role.
• AHIMA credentials (RHIA, RHIT, CCS) or AAPC credentials (CPC, CPC-H, COC, CIC or CRC).
• Proficiency with coding specialties including Emergency Department and E/M leveling.

Responsabilités

• Review medical records and assign accurate codes for diagnoses and procedures.
• Assign and sequence codes accurately based on documentation.
• Assign discharge disposition and abstract data for hospital reporting.
• Communicate documentation improvement opportunities to relevant personnel.
• Maintain a 95% coding accuracy rate and meet productivity standards.
• Track continuing education credits to maintain credentials.
