Spinwell is recruiting a Locum Clinical Coding & Data Quality Supervisor in Croydon with remote work considered for a 3-month contract. The role covers supervising coders, mentoring staff, and ensuring accurate coding per NHS rules; BPSS security is noted.

The ideal candidate holds ACC qualification with extensive NHS coding experience and a strong data quality background, ready to backfill backlog and ensure compliant reporting.

Qualifications

• National Clinical Coding qualification (ACC).
• Graduate or Equivalent.
• Substantial experience within Clinical Coding.
• Minimum 5 post ACC years across wide range of specialities.
• In depth knowledge of Anatomy and Physiology.
• Coding theory.
• Medical Terminology.
• Awareness of confidentiality.
• Recent NHS clinical coding experience after successful completion of ACC.
• Good understanding of Data quality issues and the ability to find solutions to fix them.
• Understanding of importance of outpatient coding for Revenue and data quality.
• Comprehensive knowledge of coding rules and classifications
• NHS (essential)
• NCCQ
• ACC-qualified and clinically refreshed coders who are able to contribute to reducing the current backlog at the earliest opportunity.
• Experience of Data Quality issue and need for correction
• Understanding of HRG's and Financial flows
• Teaching on importance of Coding and Data Quality issues for good data.

Responsibilities

• Extract and record diagnosis and treatment information from clinical records using recognised coding methods.
• Meet agreed time scales to support SUS PbR process and Trust plans.
• Support clinicians, assist with coding queries and audits; mentor Data Quality Officers.
• Collaborate with Data Quality Officers to provide data quality correction support to stakeholders.
• Assist the Coding Audit Manager and Supervisors with outpatient coding queries.
