Job summary

Spectrum IT is seeking a NOC Engineer to operate and optimise cloud platforms in AWS with Kubernetes and Docker. This role offers fully remote work within the UK, a 24/7 shift pattern, and a competitive package with bonus and benefits.

You will focus on monitoring, automation and incident prevention, collaborating with Software, Platform, Cloud and Security teams to enhance reliability and operational excellence across large-scale production environments.

Qualifications

• Production Engineering, Cloud Operations or NOC experience.
• Experience with Linux, AWS, Kubernetes and Docker.
• Proficient in Python, Bash or Go scripting.
• Knowledge of monitoring/observability tools: Grafana, Prometheus, Datadog, Splunk or CloudWatch.
• Strong networking fundamentals: DNS, TCP/IP, load balancing.
• Passion for automation and continuous improvement; operational excellence.

Responsibilities

• Monitor and maintain highly available production platforms in AWS.
• Respond to and manage 24/7 incidents.
• Investigate complex issues and restore services quickly.
• Develop automation to reduce manual tasks and improve resilience.
• Build and improve monitoring/observability across cloud environments.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to improve reliability.
• Contribute to post-incident reviews and drive improvements.
• Support containerised workloads using Kubernetes and Docker.
