Job summary

The Methodist Church in Britain is seeking aSpeciality doctor in CAMHS to conduct neurodevelopmental assessments for children and young people. The post involves completing second assessment stages and forming evidence-based ADHD and autism diagnoses, with remote delivery and no on-call duties.

Applicants should have full GMC registration with a licence to practise and at least four years of postgraduate clinical experience.

Qualifications

• Structured neurodevelopmental assessment experience.
• Experience applying DSM-5 or ICD-10/11 criteria.
• Ability to work within defined clinical pathways.

Responsibilities

• Undertake structured diagnostic assessments of children and young people.
• Conduct focused clinical interviews with young people and families.
• Review and integrate histories, school reports, and questionnaires.
• Establish diagnoses of ADHD, autism spectrum disorder and co-occurring conditions.
• Provide psychoeducation on ADHD and autism and discuss support options.
• Produce clear clinical reports with diagnostic outcomes and recommendations.
• Work with Stage 1 clinicians, multidisciplinary teams, and admin staff.
