Job summary

Alignerr is seeking a Machine Learning Engineer to craft structured reasoning traces and train AI models remotely. You will document how AI should plan, decide, and act in complex tasks, and you will create high-quality data to ground model reasoning in real-world scenarios.

You will work independently on a fully remote, hourly contract with flexible hours, contributing to ongoing projects and potential extensions as new work emerges.

Qualifications

• Background in ML or CS and ability to articulate complex reasoning in writing.
• Strong analytical thinking with attention to detail and accuracy.
• Self-motivated and comfortable working independently on flexible schedules.

Responsibilities

• Author clear, structured reasoning traces documenting how an AI should plan and execute tasks.
• Map out step-by-step decision-making processes including tool use and logic branching.
• Create high-quality training data demonstrating grounded reasoning in real-world scenarios.
• Evaluate and refine AI outputs to improve model decision-making consistency.
• Work independently and asynchronously with flexible hours.
