Job summary

Ideagen is seeking a Lead Engineer to drive delivery across an aviation portfolio with a focus on safety, compliance and operational performance. You will coach engineers, shape technical direction and work closely with product leaders to meet customer needs.

The role blends hands-on coding with leadership across architecture and engineering excellence within a fast‑moving product area. Remote work is supported with a Nottingham hybrid option for eligible candidates.

Qualifications

• Strong software engineering background in commercial product teams.
• Experience leading engineers or delivery squads.
• Deep understanding of scalable architecture and quality.

Responsibilities

• Lead the delivery of high-quality software solutions for aviation customers.
• Provide technical leadership across architecture, design and engineering best practices.
• Develop and mentor engineers through coaching and performance feedback.
• Work closely with Product leaders to align delivery with customer needs and strategy.
• Establish high standards for software quality, testing and maintainability.
• Drive continuous improvement to enhance engineering effectiveness.
• Support adoption of AI-enabled engineering approaches and modern development practices.
