Placements24 partners with a forward-thinking development company to hire a Lead Civil Engineer who will drive infrastructure projects from concept to completion. This fully remote role lets you shape urban and regional development while leading a virtual team of engineers and designers.

Qualifications

• Master’s degree in Civil Engineering required.
• Professional Engineer (Pr Eng) registration with ECSA required.
• 10+ years of civil engineering experience with 5+ years in leadership.
• Experience delivering large-scale residential/commercial infrastructure.
• Proficiency in AutoCAD, Civil 3D, InfraWorks and project management tools.
• Experience leading remote teams and using digital collaboration platforms.
• Knowledge of South African infrastructure planning and approvals.

Responsibilities

• Lead conceptualization and detailed design of civil infrastructure for new developments.
• Oversee road networks, earthworks, water/sewer, and stormwater systems.
• Mentor geographically dispersed team via virtual collaboration tools.
• Ensure designs comply with standards, environmental regulations, and municipal requirements.
• Develop budgets, schedules, and allocate resources for civil works.
• Liaise with clients, authorities, and stakeholders to facilitate approvals.
• Conduct feasibility studies and site assessments remotely where possible.
• Implement quality control and assurance for all design deliverables.
• Stay updated on innovative design technologies for remote project execution.
