Job summary

First Military Recruitment is seeking a Lead Technical Architect to drive the AI buildout across enterprise cloud platforms. You will provide end-to-end technical oversight, define roadmaps, and govern architecture in alignment with security and DPIA standards.

The role requires hands-on design of modular cloud and microservice architectures, risk management, and clear communication with senior stakeholders. Remote contract until 30 April 2027 with a competitive day rate inside IR35.

Qualifications

• Experience leading cloud platform architecture (GCP/AWS) for enterprise environments.
• Hands-on experience designing AI safety controls and human-in-the-loop processes.
• Ability to articulate architectural trade-offs and risk to senior leadership.
• Proven ability to integrate core enterprise platforms with AI/workflow backbones.

Responsibilities

• Define architectural roadmaps and secure cloud landing zones for AI buildout.
• Create modular, scalable cloud/microservice architectures for complex AI workflows.
• Make high-impact design decisions; manage architectural risk and security baselines.
• Lead governance through TDA, DPIA and cybersecurity checkpoints.
