Job summary

Morson Group is seeking an experienced Lead Technical Architect to provide technical leadership on a major AI transformation programme. This role defines architecture strategy, shapes cloud platforms, and ensures secure, scalable solutions across complex enterprise environments.

The successful candidate will lead architectural decision‑making, drive technical assurance, and work with senior stakeholders to deliver AI‑enabled services that align with the organisation’s technology strategy.

Lead Technical Architect

Overview

We’re seeking an experienced Lead Technical Architect to provide technical leadership on a major AI transformation programme. This role will be responsible for defining architecture strategy, shaping cloud platforms, establishing governance standards, and ensuring secure, scalable solutions across complex enterprise environments.

The successful candidate will lead architectural decision-making, drive technical assurance, and work closely with senior stakeholders to deliver AI-enabled services that align with wider organisational technology strategies.

Key Responsibilities

• Define architecture strategy, principles and roadmaps for enterprise AI platforms.
• Design secure cloud landing zones and scalable cloud-native architectures.
• Establish technology-agnostic integration approaches across enterprise systems and AI platforms.
• Lead technical design throughout the project lifecycle, ensuring solutions remain scalable, resilient and secure.
• Make key architectural decisions and manage technical risk across the programme.
• Implement AI guardrails, including human-in-the-loop controls, identity management and data protection measures.
• Drive architectural governance and assurance activities, including technical reviews, security assessments and compliance checkpoints.
• Communicate architectural strategy, technical risks and solution designs to senior stakeholders and leadership teams.
• Provide technical leadership, guidance and mentoring to architects, engineers and delivery teams.

Essential Skills & Experience

• Extensive experience leading enterprise cloud architecture within AWS and/or GCP environments.
• Strong background designing secure cloud platforms, IAM structures and microservices-based architectures.
• Experience implementing AI governance, AI safety controls, privacy controls and security best practices.
• Proven track record designing modular, scalable and interoperable technical solutions.
• Experience integrating enterprise platforms through APIs and vendor-neutral architecture approaches.
• Strong understanding of architecture assurance, security governance and technical design review processes.
• Excellent stakeholder engagement skills, with the ability to communicate complex technical concepts to both technical and non-technical audiences.
• Demonstrable experience providing technical leadership across large-scale transformation programmes.
